Nov 2 to 6 weekly setups: gold sits on last week's low, payrolls Friday, BoE and RBA decide
By Emanuele Calcina · Published 31 October 2026 · Prices are Friday closes, pulled 31 October 2026 · All weekly forecasts

Gold lost 3.02% last week. It opened at 3997.19 and ran up to 4081.96 before rolling over to a 3874.59 close, a few ticks off the 3869.98 low. We start the new week at 3876.40, still sitting on that floor.
The coming week is a jobs week. ISM manufacturing opens it on Monday, JOLTs lands Tuesday, ISM services comes Wednesday, and nonfarm payrolls close it on Friday Nov 6 with the forecast at 65 against a prior 29 [h2]. There's a central bank leg too, with the RBA on Monday night and the BoE on Thursday. Every market below gets last week's open, high, low and close, its own calendar for the week, and the levels that matter.
The week at a glance
| Market | Friday close | Week | Last week's low / high | What decides the week |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gold | 3,874.59 | -3.02% | 3,869.98 / 4,081.96 | Payrolls and ISM decide if the selloff extends |
| EUR/USD | 1.1172 | -0.19% | 1.1130 / 1.1188 | Euro-zone inflation and US payrolls set the week's direction |
| GBP/USD | 1.3399 | +0.23% | 1.3288 / 1.3399 | Thursday's Bank of England call decides cable's week |
| USD/JPY | 157.25 | +0.29% | 157.25 / 158.06 | US payrolls and BoJ minutes steer the pair this week |
| USD/CAD | 1.3969 | -0.19% | 1.3969 / 1.4047 | Does the dollar claw back ground or does last week's low break. |
| USD/CHF | 0.8229 | -0.18% | 0.8229 / 0.8306 | The rate gap versus safe-haven demand decides the franc this week. |
| AUD/USD | 0.7024 | +0.03% | 0.7024 / 0.7033 | A coiled range meets the RBA and the Fed. Something gives. |
| NZD/USD | 0.5636 | -0.90% | 0.5613 / 0.5703 | Sellers hold the Kiwi unless the US jobs week rescues it. |
| EUR/GBP | 0.8338 | -0.42% | 0.8338 / 0.8382 | A BoE hike against soft euro inflation decides the week. |
| Bitcoin | 77,326 | -3.40% | 77,223 / 81,274 | Risk mood and whether buyers defend last week's low. |
Closes are last week's, 26 to 30 October: CoinGecko daily closes at 00:00 UTC; Dukascopy 1-minute bid candles; ECB reference rates via Frankfurter, one close per day. FX rates are one reference close per day, so the weekly high and low are the highest and lowest daily closes, not intraday extremes. The week-ahead times are New York time (ET).
GoldGold sits near last week's low with payrolls set to decide the week
Gold opened at 3997.19 and closed at 3874.59, down 3.02% on the week. It tagged 4081.96 first, then sellers took it apart and drove price under 4000 (FXStreet). Firm US data did the damage and kept the high-for-longer rate story alive (FXStreet).
| Last week (26 to 30 Oct) | Open | High | Low | Close | Change |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gold | 3,997.19 | 4,081.96 | 3,869.98 | 3,874.59 | -3.02% |
What moved it
This is the same weight that has sat on gold all month. Sticky inflation and firmer energy keep real yields up, and metal that pays nothing struggles when rates stay high (FXEmpire). Some desks still call the current support a base for a Q4 bounce (TradingView), but the rebound stalled and the breakdown crowd is circling (StoneX) (www.tmgm.com).
The week ahead
Jobs week, and it lands on a market already leaning short. The data either confirms the tight-Fed read or breaks it.
| Day | Time (ET) | Release | Forecast / previous | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mon 2 | 10:00 AM ET | USD ISM Manufacturing PMI | 54.7 / 54.5 | A beat feeds the strong-data story that knocked gold lower, and that is more pressure on a metal paying nothing. |
| Tue 3 | 10:00 AM ET | USD JOLTs Job Openings | 7.1 / 7.079 | First real labor read of the week. Soft openings help the bulls, a firm 7.1 hurts them. |
| Wed 4 | 10:00 AM ET | USD ISM Services PMI | 54.8 / 54.9 | Services is the bigger slice of the economy. Another expansion print keeps high-for-longer in the frame. |
| Fri 6 | 8:30 AM ET | USD Non Farm Payrolls | 65 / 29 | The main event. Forecast 65 thousand after 29 thousand, and the surprise sets gold's tone into the close. |
Levels
Resistance is last week's high at 4081.96, with the open at 3997.19 the first ceiling above current price. Support is last week's low at 3869.98, and the close at 3874.59 sits just under current price.
Lose 3869.98 on a daily close and the sellers get the breakdown they want [h5]. Reclaim 3997.19 and last week's bearish read is in trouble.
Bottom line. Gold goes into the week heavy, pinned near last week's low with payrolls as the swing factor. Let 3869.98 and 3997.19 mark the line and read the data as it lands.
EUR/USDEUR/USD leaks from its weekly high with euro-zone CPI and payrolls ahead
Open and high landed on the same number last week, 1.1188, and it was downhill from there. The euro closed at 1.1172 for a 0.19% loss and spent the week grinding toward last week's low at 1.1130. Weak euro-zone business surveys did the work while the dollar held firm (investingLive).
| Last week (26 to 30 Oct) | Open | High | Low | Close | Change |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| EUR/USD | 1.1188 | 1.1188 | 1.1130 | 1.1172 | -0.19% |
What moved it
The gap between the two economies is the whole trade. Europe keeps growing, but slower, while US activity stays firmer, and that split is where the euro loses out (Barchart.com). Price took out this year's lows last week, and even the desks looking for a rebound are not ready to call the bottom (StoneX) (Barchart.com).
The week ahead
Wednesday brings euro-zone inflation, and Friday is all about US jobs. Two sides of the same rate story.
| Day | Time (ET) | Release | Forecast / previous | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wed 4 | 5:00 AM ET | EUR Inflation Rate YoY Flash | 3.9% / 3.8% | A forecast of 3.9% against 3.8% keeps the ECB in a bind and the euro sensitive to any upside miss. |
| Thu 5 | 10:00 AM ET | EUR ECB President Lagarde Speech | - | Her tone on growth and inflation can move the euro more than the data around it. |
| Wed 4 | 10:00 AM ET | USD ISM Services PMI | 54.8 / 54.9 | A firm US services read pushes the dollar up and the euro back toward last week's low. |
| Fri 6 | 8:30 AM ET | USD Non Farm Payrolls | 65 / 29 | Forecast 65 thousand after 29 thousand. A strong number feeds the dollar and squeezes euro longs into the close. |
Levels
Resistance is last week's high at 1.1188, the same spot the euro opened and failed from. Support is last week's low at 1.1130, with the close at 1.1172 holding above it.
Break 1.1130 and the new-low story gets a fresh leg [h5]. Reclaim 1.1188 and the sellers lose their grip on the week.
Bottom line. The euro sits in the lower half of last week's range with the growth gap still against it. Wednesday's inflation print and Friday's payrolls will decide whether 1.1130 holds or gives way.
GBP/USDCable claws back to close the week at its high before the BoE
Sterling closed the week at 1.3399, which was also the high, up 0.23% from 1.3368. Early in the week it tested new lows and got called out as under pressure (investingLive) (Continuum Economics). Then it reversed and finished at the top of the range.
| Last week (26 to 30 Oct) | Open | High | Low | Close | Change |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| GBP/USD | 1.3348 | 1.3399 | 1.3288 | 1.3399 | +0.23% |
What moved it
The pound's week is really about Thursday. The Bank of England decision and the vote split are the swing factors, and a hawkish surprise would back up Friday's close at the high (StoneX). US data has been firmer lately, so cable's late strength has to get past both its own central bank and a jobs report (Action Forex).
The week ahead
Thursday is Bank of England day, stacked with the rate call and the vote breakdown. Friday hands it to US payrolls.
| Day | Time (ET) | Release | Forecast / previous | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Thu 5 | 7:00 AM ET | GBP BoE Interest Rate Decision | 4% / 3.75% | The call is for 4% from 3.75%. A hike delivered and defended lifts the pound, a hold or dovish tone sinks it. |
| Thu 5 | 7:00 AM ET | GBP BoE MPC Vote Hike | 7 / 3 | Seven votes tipped for a hike against three last time. The wider the hawkish split, the stronger the signal. |
| Thu 5 | 7:00 AM ET | GBP MPC Meeting Minutes | - | The minutes explain the vote. Traders read them for how close the next move really is. |
| Fri 6 | 8:30 AM ET | USD Non Farm Payrolls | 65 / 29 | US jobs land the day after the BoE. Forecast 65 thousand after 29 thousand, and a strong print favors the dollar. |
Levels
Resistance is last week's high at 1.3399, the level cable closed right on. Support is last week's low at 1.3288, where price got bought last week.
Hold above 1.3288 through the BoE and the recovery stays intact. Lose it and the under-pressure story from midweek is back [h6].
Bottom line. Cable ended last week strong, but the real test is Thursday's Bank of England decision and then Friday's US jobs. Watch 1.3399 as the ceiling and 1.3288 as the floor, and let the central bank pick the direction.
USD/JPYDollar-yen fades to its weekly low with payrolls and the BoJ in view
USD/JPY finished at 157.25, up 0.29% from 156.80, but that close was also the weekly low. It ran to 158.06 before the AI trade and firmer US yields gave way to a Friday fade (StoneX) (FOREX.com). The pair gained ground on the week yet handed the day back.
| Last week (26 to 30 Oct) | Open | High | Low | Close | Change |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| USD/JPY | 157.45 | 158.06 | 157.25 | 157.25 | +0.29% |
What moved it
The yen keeps tracking yield gaps more than its own data. When Japanese yields slip and US yields steady, dollar-yen gets a bid (StoneX). Traders are already looking past last week to the BoJ and whether December brings another move, so the pair is caught between a rally that stalled and resistance higher up (Investing.com) (FOREX.com).
The week ahead
The dollar side of this pair carries the week, with jobs on Friday. Japan's input comes through the BoJ minutes.
| Day | Time (ET) | Release | Forecast / previous | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wed 4 | 6:50 PM ET | JPY BoJ Monetary Policy Meeting Minutes | - | The one Japan input this week. Any hint on timing for the next BoJ move can wake the yen up. |
| Tue 3 | 10:00 AM ET | USD JOLTs Job Openings | 7.1 / 7.079 | First labor read of the week. Soft openings pull US yields down and the dollar with them. |
| Wed 4 | 10:00 AM ET | USD ISM Services PMI | 54.8 / 54.9 | A firm services number supports US yields, which tends to keep dollar-yen bid. |
| Fri 6 | 8:30 AM ET | USD Non Farm Payrolls | 65 / 29 | The decider. Forecast 65 thousand after 29 thousand, and a strong print sends yields and the pair higher. |
Levels
Resistance is last week's high at 158.06, with the open at 157.45 the first hurdle above the close. Support is last week's low at 157.25, which was also where the week closed.
A clean break above 158.06 puts the earlier rally back in charge [h1]. Lose 157.25 and the Friday fade turns into something bigger [h6].
Bottom line. Dollar-yen closed last week at its low even while finishing higher, a sign the rally is tired near the top. Payrolls and the BoJ minutes will settle whether 158.06 gives way or 157.25 breaks first.
USD/CADUSD/CAD shuts the week at its low as the loonie keeps the upper hand
USD/CAD opened at 1.4028. It closed the week right on its low at 1.3969, down 0.19%, with the Canadian dollar doing the heavy lifting as firmer energy and a softer US dollar pulled the pair lower across the five sessions (Baystreet.ca) (FXStreet). That makes two down weeks running.
| Last week (26 to 30 Oct) | Open | High | Low | Close | Change |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| USD/CAD | 1.4028 | 1.4047 | 1.3969 | 1.3969 | -0.19% |
What moved it
The bigger frame is the central bank showdown (Investing.com). Both the Bank of Canada and the Fed are in play this week, and the tape has been reading as a bearish corrective trend for the pair while sellers keep the upper hand (Economies.com) (investingLive). Oil feeds it. A stronger crude market tends to hand the loonie a bid, and that has been the story.
The week ahead
Data stacks up on both sides of the border. Friday decides it.
| Day | Time (ET) | Release | Forecast / previous | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mon 2 | 10:00 AM ET | USD ISM Manufacturing PMI | 54.7 / 54.5 | US factory activity opens the week, forecast 54.7 against 54.5 prior. A beat supports the dollar early. |
| Mon 2 | 7:00 PM ET | USD Midterm Elections | - | Midterm elections land Monday night. A wildcard for the dollar and for risk appetite, CAD included. |
| Fri 6 | 8:30 AM ET | USD Non Farm Payrolls | 65 / 29 | The week's main US print. Payrolls are seen at 65 after 29 prior, and a soft read keeps the dollar heavy. |
| Fri 6 | 8:30 AM ET | CAD Unemployment Rate | 6.5% / 6.5% | Canada's jobless rate lands the same minute, held at 6.5% on forecast. The loonie's big test. |
Levels
Resistance is last week's high at 1.4047. Last week's open at 1.4028 sits just above the close as the first ceiling. Support is last week's low at 1.3969, which is also where the week closed.
A daily close under last week's low confirms the bearish read [h8]. Reclaim last week's open at 1.4028 and the two-week slide is suddenly in doubt.
Bottom line. The loonie had the better of last week and the pair ended it flat on the floor. Friday's jobs data on both sides of the border will say whether that holds.

USD/CHFUSD/CHF stays heavy near last week's low as the rate gap fight rolls on
The franc had the edge last week. USD/CHF opened at 0.8262 and settled right on its low at 0.8229, off 0.18%, as safe-haven buying did most of the work while the carry trade kept a floor under the dollar through the week (Forex Factory).
| Last week (26 to 30 Oct) | Open | High | Low | Close | Change |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| USD/CHF | 0.8262 | 0.8306 | 0.8229 | 0.8229 | -0.18% |
What moved it
The driver is the rate gap. US rates sit well above Swiss rates, so holding dollars still pays, and that carry keeps pulling against every franc rally the market tries to build (Forex Factory). The chart tilts lower (Continuum Economics). Sellers keep pressing key support (investingLive). The Fed is what the whole pair waits on.
The week ahead
Swiss data comes early. The US jobs picture comes late.
| Day | Time (ET) | Release | Forecast / previous | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mon 2 | 3:30 AM ET | CHF procure.ch Manufacturing PMI | 55.7 / 55.3 | Swiss factory PMI starts Monday, forecast 55.7 from 55.3. A firm read gives the franc a little early support. |
| Tue 3 | 2:30 AM ET | CHF Inflation Rate YoY | 1.3% / 1% | Swiss inflation Tuesday, seen rising to 1.3% from 1%. Hotter prices feed talk the gap to US rates could narrow. |
| Fri 6 | 8:30 AM ET | USD Non Farm Payrolls | 65 / 29 | US payrolls Friday, forecast 65 after 29. A weak print pressures the dollar and the carry case with it. |
| Fri 6 | 8:30 AM ET | USD Unemployment Rate | 4.2% / 4.2% | The jobless rate lands with it, held at 4.2% on forecast. A tick up adds to any dollar wobble. |
Levels
Resistance is last week's high at 0.8306. Last week's open at 0.8262 is the nearer cap above the close. Support is last week's low at 0.8229, the very level the week closed on.
Break last week's low and the lean lower [h4] extends. Back above last week's open at 0.8262 and the franc's grip starts to slip.
Bottom line. The franc took last week and the pair sits on its lows. The Fed, and Friday's US jobs, decide whether that pressure keeps building.
AUD/USDAUD/USD coils flat into the Fed with a breakout building under the surface
Nothing happened. That is the point. AUD/USD opened at 0.7024 and closed at 0.7024, up 0.03% on the week, with a high of just 0.7033, so the pair spent five sessions pinging between its moving averages and coiling ahead of the Fed (investingLive) (StoneX) (FXStreet).
| Last week (26 to 30 Oct) | Open | High | Low | Close | Change |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| AUD/USD | 0.7024 | 0.7033 | 0.7024 | 0.7024 | +0.03% |
What moved it
The push and pull is real. Australia's business surveys have softened, which would normally weigh on the Aussie, but sticky inflation keeps a rate hike on the table and cancels out some of that drag. Sentiment has stretched to an extreme into the Fed (FOREX.com). Traders see breakout risk once this range finally cracks (StoneX).
The week ahead
The RBA goes first, Monday night. Then it's the US jobs run into Friday.
| Day | Time (ET) | Release | Forecast / previous | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mon 2 | 10:30 PM ET | AUD RBA Interest Rate Decision | 4.85% / 4.6% | The big one for the Aussie. The RBA is seen lifting to 4.85% from 4.6%, so a hold would sting it. |
| Mon 2 | 11:30 PM ET | AUD RBA Press Conference | - | The press conference follows and sets the tone. A cautious read there can undo a hike in minutes. |
| Wed 4 | 7:30 PM ET | AUD Balance of Trade | 1 / 0.495 | Australia's trade balance midweek, forecast 1 after 0.495. A wider surplus helps the Aussie's case. |
| Fri 6 | 8:30 AM ET | USD Non Farm Payrolls | 65 / 29 | US payrolls close the week, forecast 65 after 29. A soft number weakens the dollar and can spring the range higher. |
Levels
Resistance is last week's high at 0.7033, the ceiling this range keeps bumping. Support is last week's low at 0.7024, which is also the open and the close.
A clean break of last week's high at 0.7033 is the breakout the chart has been coiling toward [h1]. Lose last week's low at 0.7024 and the flat range tips the other way.
Bottom line. The Aussie went nowhere last week, and that rarely lasts. Between the RBA and US payrolls, this range should pick a side by Friday.
NZD/USDNZD/USD takes the week's hardest hit after the RBNZ surprise
This was the week's big mover. NZD/USD opened at 0.5681 and closed at 0.5636, down 0.90%, after printing a low of 0.5613 on a surprise RBNZ hold that caught a market leaning the other way, and sellers kept control into the close (investingLive) (TradingKey).
| Last week (26 to 30 Oct) | Open | High | Low | Close | Change |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| NZD/USD | 0.5681 | 0.5703 | 0.5613 | 0.5636 | -0.90% |
What moved it
The setup going in was for a possible hike, so the hold landed as a shock and the Kiwi paid for it (FOREX.com). Sellers have stayed in charge since. Every rebound keeps stalling (investingLive). Bears are now eyeing the lower levels from earlier this year, and a firmer dollar gives them cover (Mitrade).
The week ahead
New Zealand's jobs data comes Tuesday night. The US jobs week runs around it.
| Day | Time (ET) | Release | Forecast / previous | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tue 3 | 4:45 PM ET | NZD Unemployment Rate | 5.5% / 5.6% | New Zealand's jobless rate Tuesday, seen easing to 5.5% from 5.6%. A soft labour read hands sellers more fuel. |
| Tue 3 | 4:45 PM ET | NZD Employment Change QoQ | 0.4% / 0.5% | Employment change lands with it, forecast 0.4% after 0.5%. Weak jobs argue against any near-term RBNZ turn. |
| Fri 6 | 8:30 AM ET | USD Non Farm Payrolls | 65 / 29 | US payrolls Friday, forecast 65 after 29. A soft print could finally give the Kiwi a reason to bounce. |
| Fri 6 | 8:30 AM ET | USD Unemployment Rate | 4.2% / 4.2% | The US jobless rate lands with it, held at 4.2%. A higher number takes steam out of the dollar. |
Levels
Resistance is last week's high at 0.5703. Last week's open at 0.5681 is the first hurdle above the close. Support is last week's low at 0.5613, below where the week closed at 0.5636.
Lose last week's low at 0.5613 and the sellers get the break they want [h8]. Reclaim last week's open at 0.5681 and the post-RBNZ drop starts to look overdone.
Bottom line. The Kiwi was last week's clear loser and the chart still favours the sellers. It needs a weak US jobs week, or its own data to hold up, before that read changes.
EUR/GBPEUR/GBP closes at a fresh year low with the BoE in the way
The pair opened the week at 0.8382 and never got higher. It closed at 0.8338, down 0.42%, right on the low, the weakest the euro has been against the pound all year (Newsquawk) (Continuum Economics). Sellers kept every bounce capped (FXStreet).
| Last week (26 to 30 Oct) | Open | High | Low | Close | Change |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| EUR/GBP | 0.8382 | 0.8382 | 0.8338 | 0.8338 | -0.42% |
What moved it
This has been about the pound all along. UK data has held up and the market is leaning toward a Bank of England move, which keeps sterling bid and the cross heavy (FOREX.com) (FXStreet). Wave and chart reads point the same way, lower, with studies under pressure (Action Forex) (Continuum Economics).
The week ahead
This is a big week for the cross. Euro inflation lands midweek, then the Bank of England takes over Thursday.
| Day | Time (ET) | Release | Forecast / previous | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wed 4 | 5:00 AM ET | EUR Inflation Rate YoY Flash | 3.9% / 3.8% | Euro inflation YoY flash, forecast 3.9% against 3.8% prior. A soft print would give the euro nothing to lean on. |
| Thu 5 | 7:00 AM ET | GBP BoE Interest Rate Decision | 4% / 3.75% | The BoE decision, forecast 4% from 3.75%. A hike here is the main event and sets the tone for the pound. |
| Thu 5 | 7:00 AM ET | GBP BoE MPC Vote Hike | 7 / 3 | The vote on a hike, forecast 7 against 3 last time. More hike votes would confirm the pound's edge. |
| Thu 5 | 10:00 AM ET | EUR ECB President Lagarde Speech | - | Lagarde speaks Thursday afternoon. Her tone on growth and inflation can move the euro leg of the cross. |
Levels
The ceiling is last week's high at 0.8382, which was also the week's open. Support is last week's low at 0.8338, the same place the week closed.
A close back below last week's low at 0.8338 keeps the fresh year lows coming [h3]. A push back above last week's high at 0.8382 would be the first real sign the selling is spent.
Bottom line. The pound holds the whip hand into a BoE meeting that is priced to deliver. If last week's low at 0.8338 gives way the trend just keeps going, and if it holds the euro finally gets a breather.
BitcoinBitcoin ends the week pinned to its low after a hack and forced selling
Bitcoin had a rough week. It opened at 80029, printed a high at 81274, then rolled over to close at 77326, down 3.40% and a hair above the low. A record Binance hack and a wave of long liquidations did the damage (Bitcoin Magazine) (Yahoo Finance).
| Last week (26 to 30 Oct) | Open | High | Low | Close | Change |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin | 80,029 | 81,274 | 77,223 | 77,326 | -3.40% |
What moved it
Underneath it was a risk-off tape. Middle East worries pulled money out of anything speculative (CoinDesk), and the Binance breach gave nervous holders another reason to sell (Bitcoin Magazine). The one bright spot is that bitcoin held up better than you might expect after a hit that size (CNBC).
The week ahead
The macro calendar is stacked this week, and bitcoin trades off the risk mood it sets.
| Day | Time (ET) | Release | Forecast / previous | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mon 2 | 7:00 PM ET | USD Midterm Elections | - | Midterm elections Monday night. A messy result feeds exactly the kind of uncertainty that has been weighing on risk assets. |
| Wed 4 | 10:00 AM ET | USD ISM Services PMI | 54.8 / 54.9 | ISM services, forecast 54.8 against 54.9. A soft read would cool the dollar and give risk some room. |
| Fri 6 | 8:30 AM ET | USD Non Farm Payrolls | 65 / 29 | Nonfarm payrolls Friday, forecast 65 after a weak 29 prior. The biggest swing factor for rates and risk all week. |
| Fri 6 | 10:00 AM ET | USD Michigan Consumer Sentiment Prel | 47.3 / 48 | Michigan sentiment, forecast 47.3 from 48. A weak consumer read adds to the defensive tone bitcoin has been fighting. |
Levels
Resistance starts at last week's open at 80029 and runs up to the high at 81274. Support is last week's low at 77223, which sits just under where the week closed at 77326.
Lose last week's low at 77223 and the selling just extends with little in the way [h5]. Reclaim last week's open at 80029 and the dip buyers, ETF money included, start to look right.
Bottom line. Bitcoin goes into a heavy data week sitting on its lows and nursing a hack it has mostly shrugged off [h3]. If last week's low at 77223 breaks the sellers stay in control, and if it holds the bounce has something to work with.

Questions traders asked us this week
What moves gold the week of Nov 2 to 6?
The jobs data. ISM manufacturing on Monday, JOLTs on Tuesday, ISM services on Wednesday and nonfarm payrolls on Friday Nov 6 set the tone, with payrolls forecast at 65 after 29 last time [h2]. Gold starts at 3876.40, right on last week's 3874.59 close and 3869.98 low, so those prints test whether that floor holds.
Why did gold fall last week?
Strong US data lifted the dollar and rate expectations, and gold pays no yield to compete with that [h2]. It fell 3.02% on the week. After a 4081.96 high the sellers took over and it closed at 3874.59, far under the 3997.19 open, which put last week's low in focus for the bears [h4].
Do the BoE and RBA decisions matter for the week of Nov 2 to 6?
Yes. The RBA decides Monday night with a 4.85% forecast against 4.6%, and the BoE decides Thursday with a 4% forecast against 3.75%. Both feed AUD/USD and GBP/USD directly, and a surprise from either spills into the dollar and gold.
Where is gold trading now and what are last week's levels?
Gold is at 3876.40. Last week it opened at 3997.19, ran to a 4081.96 high, bottomed at 3869.98 and closed at 3874.59. The question this week is whether buyers can defend that low or the breakdown extends [h3][h5].
